So since the recent updates, when switching profiles , sometimes I have to type in my full password. This would only occur before if I had failed my fingerprint scanner 5 times.
Anyone know if it's a feature I need to toggle
Biometrics lock out
Toggle off and on "allow fingerprint unlock" on each profile to fix
Would appreciate a more detailed report on this here please: https://github.com/GrapheneOS/os-issue-tracker
L8437 Did you wait for the fingerprints to be "available"? In my case, if I wait for 5-10 seconds, the fingerprint icon appears and I'm able to use it to unlock.
alex_herrero sometimes I have to wait for finger print to be available, but it's random , sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
Can someone else report the issue as I don't know how to use the issue tracker
I've just tried to reset the fingerprints but the process times out before I can complete adding it, no matter how quickly I try to register it.

A couple of weeks ago my fingerprints stopped being recognized, while they used to work perfectly before. I had assumed it was a scratch on my screen protector but I was able to register prints fine, just not read them.
There's definitely something weird since the last 2 updates... Will try to test it further.

Experiencing this also on P7 031500: Switching to profile [3] from profile [2] disables fingerprint unlock for profile [2] while fingerprint unlock remains available for profile [3]...Will check other devices in a bit...
P7 031500: Switching to profile [3] from profile [2] does not disable fingerprint unlock for profile [2] if profile [3] does not have fingerprint unlock toggled enabled.
Unable to repro on P6 031500 :)

For me, unlocking the profile once with my PIN enables the fingerprint unlock again. But it will be disabled the next time I switch profiles.
Turns out the story is a bit more nuanced, it looks like the fingerprint unlock becomes available again automatically after waiting for a bit without having to unlock once with PIN. How long it takes seems to be very dependent on the profile you're switching to (anywhere from almost instantaneously to upwards of 10 seconds).
Need to wait for fingerprint sensor to change from lock icon to fingerprint icon.
nrt Need to wait for fingerprint sensor to change from lock icon to fingerprint icon.
This does seem to work most of the time yes. But sometimes it takes forever (at least long enough for me not to want to wait any longer and just use the PIN) for the icon to change after a profile switch. And this behaviour does seem to have started after the last update. Before the update it was noticeably faster
qubit Agree. I just press the lock, go back and boom, there's the fingerprint icon. Started with the last 2 beta updates.
matchboxbananasynergy I created a detailed report on the issue tracker as requested:

Thanks for the suggestion.
alex_herrero Thanks! It does seem to be a duplicate of the known upstream issue at least on the surface, however, it seems that a lot more people are reporting it after QPR2, so it's likely that AOSP changed something that made this bug more likely to occur.
Yeap, sorry for the newbie mistake.
