Hi,
I find it quite depressing that there is still no opportunity to set a secondary DNS as private DNS in Android. Hence, you have to decide between your local resolver in WiFi, falling back to your ISP automatically once you are out of range (mobile network) OR a constant connection to an external server.
There are a few workarounds for that such as ...
- third party apps, auto switchers
- control everything by routing through a VPN
- set a specific DNS in the DHCP settings for your WiFi connection
... that either require root (3rd party apps), draw more power and add further technical dependencies (VPN) or simply do not work since the private DNS setting overwrittes everything else (also WiFI DHCP).
Would it be possible to add a simple switch or even a secondary layer as fallback private DNS to GOS so you do not have to fiddle around with all of this and manually change the settings all the time when changing the network?
I hope I am not asking for too much and would really appreciate it if there would be some wriggle room for such a feature without making too much effort.
Thank you and have a nice day. :)
