Nooblet
Wine (originally an acronym for "Wine Is Not an Emulator") is a compatibility layer.

It definitely emulates the OS, but I think when they say that its not an emulator, they mean its not a CPU emulator. They should really be more clear about that, because it makes them sound stupid.
Here's the suggestion for running x86 stuff; https://wiki.winehq.org/Emulation
Would I bother? Nope. In my experience, WINE has NEVER worked for ANYTHING that was actually useful or necessary.
intelligence thank you!
intelligence there's this really crappy 2D mmorpg I would like to try play on my phone. Which is why I was considering WINE. I just wanted to make sure I don't break a bunch of stuff trying to.
Nooblet You also need to consider that even if you manage to get the program to load, you will ultimately not have the ability to interact with it satisfactorily unless you plug in additional I/O like a keyboard/mouse.
