matchboxbananasynergy thank you for that! do you have a suggestion or know anyone that uses a watch with grapheneos?

I don't use one personally, but I know people have gotten Pixel Watch to work on GrapheneOS (required the aforementioned Nearby Devices permission for Play Services). Others have used Garmin watches etc.

It all depends on what you're looking for. A search on this forum should give out at least a few threads to look into from other users who're using GrapheneOS with a paired watch.

matchboxbananasynergy for sure, I would just like notifications so I can keep my phone on silent haha only check it when I need to check it!

[deleted] i purchased a bangle.js watch for just this purpose - it's cheap, simple and open! right now i'm having an issue with it but prior it has been perfect and their team is pretty responsive. worth looking into!

itsjpb that is awesome! Was it easy to set up? I’m a pretty new to all this. Just got my self a system76 with popos, wanting to get a pixel 7 with grapheneos, and now I need a watch for notifications. Wanting to de google “besides sandboxed play services and de-apple haha

Using an old Galaxy Watch and the Wear app on the Pixel 6a. Full working OK. Suppose any Samsung watch will work since the Wear app is OK.

Samsung Watch 4 is working fine here. It needs the "detect nearby devides" permission at least to pair the watch with the phone, like the Pixel Watch (both are WearOS based).

itsjpb did you fix your issue?

Eirikr70 do you manage to have notification and gps working ok? same for media controls? I have a xiaomi watch that wont connect so i give up, not a big deal. But withings scanwatch says 30days battery??? is that right?
          tia

Bio_Logik Everything works ok. But I have to inform you that the app uses the gps of the phone : there is none on the watch. For the 30 days, it is probably true at the start. I usually charge it 5 minutes every day while I take a shower.

itsjpb Did you have to set certain permissions for gadget bridge?

[deleted] so far i have not succeeded in making it work again, but am talking a bit to the main dev so i feel wlll cared for.

it does require a number of permissions, but none of them are unnecessary, if you will. has to access your notifications/phonecalls/etc to function, nothing superfluous

I use a Garmin watch and it works fine with Garmin Connect without any of the Google components installed.
