  • It is possible to create a isolated & encrypted environment for snapchat ?

I would like to create a environment specifically for snapchat to totally isolate it and make sure that there is 0 ways to link the account to me physically like online. My threats is authorities who got really advanced materials. I would need to talk with strangers coworker about sensitives information ( i'm a journalist ) and they doesn't want to move on a secured chat.

How could I make it?

Buy a separate Pixel phone with cash, unlock bootloader in a location far away from where you sleep, on a public WiFi. Flash GrapheneOS, put the phone in airplane mode, disable Bluetooth and WiFi. Setup a Tor router (or better Whonix on Qubes), share Tor connection via Ethernet port, connect that phone to the Tor via USB-C to Ethernet adapter.

evalda For security I would use SimpleXChat, not signal. I'm trying to use snapchat to give my SimpleXChat link. Authorities couldn't read my chat on SimpleXChat, but if they investigate me from snapchat, they have a chance to trap me if my coworker don't got a good opsec and leaked our messages, is 2 phone really usefull?

    I'll detail my whole opsec.

First, there is two things. I don't want to get my messages reads, and investigations on me. If my messages got reads and there is an investigation on me, I want to keep my anonymity over years.

I will split the opsec between two part, my opsec, and my coworker opsec.

    • My opsec : I will use a phone bought in second-hand with cash. I will add GrapheneOS. On that phone I will use everyday Snapchat ( Bad ) and SimpleXChat ( Good ). While using the phone I will use a public wifi and always use it for maximum 10-15 minutes. I will use a faraday bag, and take the phone out of the bag only while using it. Physically hide/destruct the cameras/microphone. I will use the maximum settings on SimpleXChat and ALWAYS use orbot, I will also use orbot for creating the ProtonMail, the snapchat account, downloading any app, etc.. I will also encrypt the whole OS ( idk if that's possible on GrapheneOS ) with a strong password, and try to create a isolated environment for snapchat, who is a spy literally. I heard that I could do that on GrapheneOS

My coworker opsec : He will use his real phone, with his real wifi. He will always use stenography ( I will meet him and give codes that only him would have ). He will use SimpleXChat max settings and also Orbot. He will probably get fucked pretty fast, but if I don't get caught, it's good for me.

evalda I only have a paper with his snapchat name, I really need to find a way to contact him on snap without leaking any info to give my Signal/SimpleXChat name.

Otherwise I would already got his Signal/SimpleXChat name and get no more problems..

I have cleaned up this thread and will bring it back to your initial question.

To create an encrypted environment on your device simply requires the creation of a new user. When you are not in it and using it and so long as you End Session when not using it/moving back to the Owner profile will leave all information in that profile encrypted at rest.

Use just Snapchat in it and nothing else to prevent it communicating with inter process communication with any other apps or fingerprinting you based on other apps installed there.

What you use it for then is entirely up to you and is no longer relevant to the forum.

You received a lot of better advice for the purpose you outlined from @evalda but you seemed dismissive of it.

I am locking the thread against further discussion due to the development of the conversation moving against our Code of Conduct:
