Enable the “Erase data” button in the power menu on GrapheneOS

Is there any way to this, Ive seen on a phone with graphene that has had this feature on.

drkthedon please don't believe everything ChatGPT and other LLM's tell you. They can be inaccurate more often then not. Like in this case it is false, this feature does not exist. drkthedon this is a hallucinated response, where the Android power menu toggles got mixed up with the options in the recovery menu (factory reset). This option doesn't exist in the OS and is part of the recovery, that you would get into via the hardware buttons from a(ny) turned off Android phone.
This is just another point of evidence for the harmful advice that AI chat bots provide on a daily basis.

drkthedon as many have said, this is a hallucination. The best way to reduce hallucinations is to make it web search every single time you ask it something. It adds a bit of tedium, but the information is better.

This seems to be a hallucination of ChatGPT. LLMs are very high when it comes to OS settings and such. So don't use them at all in such cases.

When I search "erase" in the Settings app, I get "Erase all data (factory reset)" under System -> Reset options. This is the manual approach. The only other way to factory reset your device (iirc) is to enable the duress pin/password and use it.

One problem with posting LLM hallucinations is that LLMs are trained by reading web pages. So any time an LLM hallucination is posted on a reputable web site LLMs are more likely to hallucinate the same wrong thing in the future.

The issue isn't some quirky rule of this one forum. Posting LLM hallucinations anywhere makes the Internet worse for everybody.

And at the same time it poisons the models, which is the best strategy as of today for fighting them. This really is a catch22 situation, where I feel like poisoning the models and completely obliterating them would be the best possible thing, but I also don't want to make the internet worse for humans at the same time...
