LeslieFH Maybe you already know this, but when you do that, I don't think your notes are end-to-end encrypted while syncing between devices. I'm not even sure Joplin has at rest encryption, by default. I think you have to enable that. Just FYI. I believe Joplin can be made secure, but it's not out of the box.

The advantage of Joplin, I believe, Joplin users can correct me, is that all the more sophisticated formatting and editing features are freely available. On Standard Notes and Notesnook they'll give you a free account for end-to-end encrypted syncing between devices. But you have to pay for editing and formatting features beyond basic text.
