Managing installed apps

I would like to use one profile which is dedicated to installing/updating apps, and then I would like to install the apps from that profile onto others.

I've tried this out, however, and it seems that this approach will only work if I use the main profile as my "App Management" profile, since I'm unable to install apps from user profiles to other profiles.

I am thinking, then, that it is reasonable to use the Main profile to manage apps, perhaps revoking network permission to all apps in Main, and from Main I will install apps into whichever User profiles i'd like.

Does anyone have a different approach?

spiral This is an approach I've been thinking about for a long time. The only thing that would make this even better would be for you to be able to disable the apps in the Owner profile and just install them in the others with the "install available apps" feature, but when an app is updated, it's re-enabled, so that won't really work.

spiral Still, you can remove all permissions from apps and you should achieve a similar effect. There's an open issue about this, but its feasibility and whether this can be done downstream is still unknown:

Early on in my GOS journey, I installed apps inside of different profiles. Now, when I want to update these apps, I have to go into each user profile and update apps inside Aurora, fDroid, or through GitHub. This is too time consuming and too cluttered.

Moving forward, I want to avoid fdroid entirely. I I plan to uninstall any apps with were installed through fDroid and reinstall them through Aurora or GitHub. Since I'm restructuring lots of apps, I decided to do so in the manor described in my OP. Having all the apps in one place will cut down on the time it takes to update and will generally streamline the process.

I want to install apps on one place for ease of updating.
