I am a very happy GrapheneOS user since the past month. I am very grateful for the immense effort this team is putting out and I can't thank them enough. My experience has been really really solid so far and have been moving away from Mr Google slowly but steadily.

I was however wondering and I may be missing this completely. On the stock pixel there is this double tap on the back of the phone with your finger to do a specific function. Take a screenshot, or open a specific app. I think its called quick tap. There is probably a privacy / security related reason why this is not on the GraphenOS. I bet it has some google play services dependency but I was still wondering if this is in the pipeline or a feature request.

Above anything else, I feel relieved running this OS and the fact that as a user, OS wise, the fact you are barely giving up anything is such a gamechanger.

I second this. Taking a screenshot, for example, requires a grueling maneuver with both hands. Launching specific apps you use a lot or pausing/resuming media would be nice too. Ideally it would be customizable.

PS I see your view about GrapheneOS. It's an amazing piece of work.

unwat Ah I see, thanks for remembering and bringing this older post up. It's good to hear that it is not privacy / security bound. We "only" need a massive Chad developer then.

MetropleX I just installed TapTap and it's so-so at best. It's probable it would work better if it had root access (I'm not rooted), so I'm wondering whether it would be worth integrating it as a system app? I know Graphene devs are hesitant to include any more apps as stock bloatware, but given that TapTap simulates an in-built feature of the phone, might it be worth it?

Tested TapTap successfully with a Pixel 6 on Android 14. Thanks for the hint!
