Isn't it very simple?
If a chat control is enabled, then don't use messengers on your private phone. If you need messengers for work, buy a phone only for work/business and don't use this for private messages.
I have no illusions that sooner or later the EU becomes more totalitarian than China or North Korea.
They push their digital ID to become mandatory, they develop digital money, and they already worked on putting journalists in jail if they aren't in line with the governments.
And the average citizen is selling his personal data, including movements and personal contacts to supermarkets, just to save 10 cent on a yoghurt.
So it's a fight against windmills. People gave up their privacy willfully when the first smartphone with ios/android arrived and they never cared.
And looking back to Corona, it took only weeks to implement mass surveillance, even though those surveillance app embedded deep in the system was opt-in, they can and will do this if the EU forces them.
The number of customers who care about privacy is maybe 3 percent of all customers, just look at how many people use AI, which is basically only existing because of available personal data.
In the end it's not about what smartphone or OS to use, but if you use one or not. For work? Yes, you will have to. In private? Only if you want to hurt yourself.
