I invite those of is who have social accounts on themes related to privacy, security, Android alternatives, open source, etc. to publish a thread calling for fundings.

Perhaps we could ask companies like Proton or Mullvad and other friendly organizations to become sponsors for accrescent.

It would be in their best interest after all, since a portion of their customers wants to obtain their apps in a secure manner outside from Google's Playstore or simply downloading APKs from their websites.

Especially Proton, since it does a annual fundraiser for open source projects.

I think an option for bank transfer (Wise) would be benificial for the people that don't use cryptocurrency, that is how I do a yearly donation to GrapheneOS, it is very accessible.
Also unpaid volunteers would be great, there are lots of people without a job in countries where they still have wellfare and coding skills.
Sadly I don't have those skills myself, nor am I reliable enough. (Chronic depression)

de0u Well, thank you! That is a very kind thing of you to say!
But worry not, I learned to live with depression a long time ago, to the point is is now a part of my life. (I accepted it) And I'm pretty sure there are many people on this forum share this problem as well. (A sense of apathy, not liking hobbies anymore, etcetera) depression sadly is a common problem among many, it does make me useless from time to time, at moments like these I don't have the will nor power to work on anything, but it is not relevant anyway due to the lack of coding skills, hence the donations, that is at least something I can do along with reporting back some alfa and beta updates, I really appreciate everything the GrapheneOS team is doing, they work tirelessly and to me it is like magic.
My apologies to the rest for even starting about depressions, it has no place on a forum like this, nor was it relevant to the subject other than to explain not having the capacity to assist in certain ways.

It is best to accept our condition and focus on other (happier) things, it helps a little, at least this way it is not always on our minds.

Franco GitHub dislikes throwaway e-mail addresses designed to satisfy a registration challenge and to then be discarded. There are doubtless other issues, but that one is common. Adding a "real" e-mail address may help.

We recently discovered that an unprecedented Monero donation of ~$16,062.50 was received in the short time after we totaled the latest values for this article but before it was posted. @lberrymage Upon reading your post anew, especially about the roadmap, I wonder of you shouldn't focus on what is necessary in order to enlarge the number of apps that you distribute. For instance, you plan improvements of the users'app, but the information you would provide is already provided by other sources, so although it is useful as a long term aim, I don't regard it as vital for Accrescent. I know that I know little about your app and its context, and I know that my intervention might be received as an offense, so I apologise in advance if it is inappropriate.

Eirikr70 No offense taken, that's a very reasonable conclusion. I actually do plan on working on the things necessary to increase the number of apps we accept. As mentioned in the blog post, we'll be publishing a second blog post next week outlining our development plan for the next 3 months. The first item in that plan is preliminary backend work which is essential for Accrescent to be able to support more app developers.

But to encourage supporters, we also want to make progress which is more publicly visible, i.e., on changes which users can see in Accrescent, so there's a balance to be made between that and backend work which is perhaps more important but less publicly visible.

lberrymage any chance for some kind of collaboration with Magic Earth? They could benefit from Accrescent providing the update checking and autoupdate functionality so that they don't need to spend dev time on making their own, and Accrescent could get more visibility and advertising from Magic Earth directing users to it (which may get more eyes on it willing to donate.)
