GrapheneOS should add F-Droid Basic and Obtainium to the store. Accrescent is barely working, lacking even essential features for transparency like a link to the source.
It is very opinionated to include Accrescent, just like it is opinionated what random apps are included in that store. Just a completely random collection of the devs favourite apps.
As that app is preinstalled, people CONSTANTLY refer to it "but it is in Accrescent" while that store even has propritary apps! People believe GrapheneOS as a source of trust, while that is not really deserved in that case. People actively choose apps from Accrescent, in contrast to better ones that are in other stores.

Meanwhile newbies do not have a secure way to get a real store that is not controlled by Google and full of fake apps or apps that are signed by Google, often contain proprietary libraries (in contrast to the free builds) or are straight up malware
People install F-Droid or Obtainium, thats a fact. Not adding these apps is just bad, even if you want to go the full "harm reduction" path and pretend that using them would be a netto negative on Security (which it is not)
I personally use Obtainium, but respect that it is not user friendly at all (no parallel downloads, background updates or... an app catalogue) and would not recommend it to noobs
