Looking for a audio recording app with quick activation

Hello everyone,
I am looking for an audio/voice recording app that can be activated by pressing the power or volume button without having to fully log into the phone and activate the app first.
This way, I can just leave the phone in my pocket and quickly press a button instead of having to take the phone out, log in, start the app, etc. Does anyone know if such an app exists?

yourmother As an alternative method, using https://github.com/FossifyOrg/Voice-Recorder and adding a widget to your home screen with the option to customize the widgets appearance opacity, one is able to tap on it to start recording audio.

I know that's not directly an answer to your question regarding the usage of hardware key buttons. But it works for some use cases. Others have mentioned that they'd simply start the recorder when they leave their home and turn it off when they return.

Maybe you can do something with μLauncher. There you can set quick start of apps by double clicking power/volume buttons.

update: i found the solution and get it working with a opensource app Key Mapper + Easy voice recorder.

Might i ask, as u are a dev, what is your stance about accesibility permissions? Keymapper (logically) requires it to be able to function, though i experienced it as pretty 'invasive', hence i found your solution 'better'.

Does it bear any risk, in the sense of increased attack surface if one app has accesibility permissions enabled for an app?
If someons would know i had this app, could one target to exploit that app?

I would prefer to use Fossify Voice Recorder app as well above Easy Voice Recorder's, but strangely, Keymapper cannot find the Fossify record widget/app in 'launch app shortcut'.
So i can't seem to activate Fossify record under the volume button.

I have disconnected Easy Voice Recorder from the internet, so it should be safe to use now.

Accessibility service permissions are a no go for me or anything I do on production devices or any personal devices. Only for testing some things once in a while on dedicated testing devices.

I was unaware of that and only referenced their git repo as a source. Thanks for that bit of info though.

Yes I'm waiting for a Pixel 9a discount which unfortunately will probably take at least a couple more months, or I might get a Pixel 10 if the G5 is as good as the rumours say

Fossify Voice Recorder has an option in the settings to start recording automatically when the app is opened...

yourmother Well, I can activate the Fossify Voice Recorder with the app KeyMapper, but if you want to launch that app when the display is off, then you need to root your phone. On the other hand, I don’t think it’s a good idea to use an app like KeyMapper. It has access to a lot of things...

With the apps Keymapper + Easy Sound Recorder, I can place the recording function (start recording Immediately) under the volume button. In other words, I can recording directly sound when I press the volume button without having to unlock the phone first.
you only need to wake up the screen first by touching it.
Unlocking is not needed (no my phone is not rooted)

You mention activating Fossify record with volume button, but then you only start the app, not the record. You still need unlocking the phone to start the recording. With Easy Voice Recorder, I don't need to do that.

Well, if you disable the permission connect to the internet, then who cares? It can't communicate outside your phone anymore, so it can't do any harm.
i also do this with Easy sound recorder.
