Object_11 In the penultimate update, I see exceptionally many logs of this type :
30612 W HWUI : Image decoding logging dropped!
I have these logs too. Not very many, so I doubt that is the cause, there is just like 30 of them in the logs for a few hours. But internet search for that log message turns up nothing, so it is a log message that rarely ever show in Android logs posted on internet.
other8026 If there truly was an issue with the update, we'd have a lot more people reporting the issue, rather than only a few people. Considering the number of users that we have, it's very possible issues arising after an update is a coincidence.
Possibly. It is also possible it only happens to people connected to some specific cell towers, or who use some specific carriers, or who are in areas with some specific kind of coverage. And that would also explain why an update might have worsened the situation, even if only for a small number of users. It may also be coincidences. I moved a few days before the April update, and I thought my issues were because I moved, and had to use 4G instead of Wifi, because I don't have Wifi here yet. But halving of battery time still seemed a little bit extreme to me. People on internet don't talk about 4G/5G being that much more power hungry than Wifi. But in a few days I will know, as I am getting Wifi here.
I checked, and it seems the baseband firmware is still dated as from end of January, so that didn't update recently.
