I like IceDrive.
I need Android, Windows, Linux Compatibility.
Need it to be able to mount as a "Drive" on computer.
And I hate Subscriptions... Ice Drive has LifeTime Plans.
I have 2TB for life. "Hopefully the dont go out of business". Ha ha.
I am testing Proton Drive but 500GB is nowhere near enough for me and I dont like how it works on the computer. And its also a subscription... Advantage is it works much much better on Android. IceDrive is terrible to try to manage your files on Android. You really need to use the computer to manage data and just veiw your data on Android...
Im thinking about trying Tresorit. Apparently its best of the best privacy wise. But that comes at the cost of usability and its extremely expensive subscription..
Do I need the best privacy available for all my music, movies, and other stuff that has no connection to me? Probably not, and im thinking IceDrive is perfect for all that and has reasonable privacy.
Then useing Tresorits cheapest/smallest GB plan for my most valuable stuff. IDK if Tresorit works on Linux though.
Another thing to note is IceDrive proudly says its based in Gibraltar. Sounds fancy but Gibraltar is part of the UK...
UK is only one step above china in my eyes when it comes to privacy. I dont trust UK government at all... I didint realize it was UK when I bought the LifeTime Plan. Still dont regret it but I think of Ice Drive mainly as Bulk storage now.
pDrive might have been a better option. It also has lifetime plan with enough storage. And can mount as a "Drive" on computer.
To get the best encryption you have to pay extra. They either store your data in USA or somewhere nice in Europe. Make sure when you make acount to select Eourope. I have Free pDrive acount im still just testing out. So far seems good but dont like the GUI.
Sorry for rant hope this helps. Cloud Storage is all ive been thinking about for the last week, ha ha.
