rocky-planet Yeah, the Proton suite of apps are not good for integrating with either Android or Linux. I use Protonmail with Thunderbird, Etesync for Calendar, Ente for photos on Android, and Proton Drive for general files like word documents. Then I use Lyrion Music Server to play my music files across devices on the network.

Similar: Protonmail with Evolution, EteSync with Calendar, Tasks, Contacts and Notes, Proton Drive for Photos as well as occasional ad hoc files.

I await the day that PDrive has a native Linux client that integrates into the OS the way the one for Windows does so that the web browser approach can finally be ditched ...

There have only ever been two occasions over the last couple of years I've been using it when the sync has not worked, due to hosted server issues. But if you get onto the Matrix group and ping the maintainer, things get fixed up pretty quickly. It's also possible to self-host, but I'm happy to just pay the US$24 per year to not have to worry about that.

I access it on phone and two Linux computers, all pretty seamlessly for almost all the time.

basedFOSS This Black Friday is apparently last time lifetime plan will be offered. When I was looking last they didn't have the LifeTime option.

Im going to get a lifetime plan for sure. I guess fomo more than anything. I refuse to use Subscription service for cloud.

Actually I can only download it on my Laptop.
Fedora/Windows 11 IOT LTSC.
Cant download on GrapheneOS.
Web App only. Thats kinda a issue for me.
I think Filen needs Google Play Services?

I can recommend kdrive provided by Infomaniak from Switzerland. They offer clients for all OS (Windows, Linux, MacOS, Android and iOS) and pricing is less than 2,- € per Months for 1 TB oft storage. E-Mail , calendar and videoconferencing included. I am very happy with it.

Anyone know if the Ente photos client on Linux is any good? Is it better to use Flatpak or some other format?

My setup is a self-hosted NextCloud instance with a BackBlaze B2 bucket mounted as external storage.

I have been using rsync.net for quite a while. I love it. No fancy client needed if you're on Linux. SSH and rsync work great.
Support is great if you need it.

If you need encryption at rest you can take your pick of apps to do that for you.

Seriously, guys, is it not a big problem that GPG keys are not (as far as I can tell) published by filen.io et alia? I don't understand why we're not all up in arms about this. What am I missing?
