  • Would you recommend a private tablet instead of an iPad?

Using an iPad for now, but considering it being proprietary and, what is worse, not being able to verify what 3rd party apps are doing under the hood and what they send over the network (and unable to block internet access for certain apps), Is Pixel tablet the only alternative for now? I have tried this product and it seems very outdated for 2025, with a 60 hz display, no stylus.

Can you recommend some android (or harmonyOS?) tablets that are comparable to an iPad, but still allow installing custom ROMs to get rid of google services and block network access on a per-app level, while using only open source apps on it?

Thank you

Pixel tablet or iPad. There's no other choices.

I have a Pixel Tablet and can say that it works very, very well. It has an excellent display, very color-accurate and that is a joy to watch.

It's true what you say about it being somewhat updated, but if you buy it on a sale it's not so overpriced.

If you install GOS on it, I think you won't be disappointed.
