Outlook or Gmail app?

For a specific reason I have to use a mail address which I can only use with outlook or Gmail. Automatically forwarding is disabled too.

I know both apps are crap from privacy aspects.
Which one would you choose if you would have to?
And how would you safe your privacy using it?

brandy078 you could try FairEmail. They should support every possible standard from what I have seen.

splattergames thank you. I tried it, but it doesn't work.
It only works with 3 mobile apps: Outlook, Gmail and iOS Mail.
The reason could be that the mail address is part of an intranet. Sending and receiving mails is only allowed for and to the contacts added by the organization

brandy078 If I may ask, how is that mail handled in the backend? Is this some kind of Azure or Google Workspace thing possibly? It sounds really weird that it only supports specific clients. I would have assumed it could be implemented using OAuth or app-specific passwords.

brandy078 I think the Outlook WPA can send notifications, at least it asked me to turn them on (maybe only with google play services).

The webpage is Outlook. So probably azure.
I can't tell you more. I'm just a user.

brandy078 Did you try the "Outlook/Office 365 (OAuth)" option in the FairEmail setup wizard? That would most likely be the correct option for Azure. Otherwise I guess you will have to install Outlook to get notification. Otherwise you would need to install Play Services since those handle notifications for Vanadium (and other Chromium based Android browsers as well).
