USB preferences

Hi! I want to have access to my phone files when connecting to my mac but when I go to USB preferences and choose for "usb controlled by:" -> "connected device" instead of "this device" it just says "couldn't switch". How can I fix this? Thanks

Do not change that you do not have to,
select Files Transfer

NetRunner88 I did that too. My mac still does not recognize the connected phone

23up Are you using the 'Android file transfer' application? This seems to work for me.

Check in
Setting > Security and Confidentiality > Exploit protection > USB-C port
And select at least Chargin-only when unlocked.

Keep your phone unlocked,

Plug it yo you Mac

Select files transfer on the phone and you are done.

Had dust/lint in the port. Gave the port a quick blow and I started getting the USB notification and had access to all the USB-C settings on my Pixel 6
