Hi, I am trying to set up USB file transfer from my Pixel 6 to my Windows 11 PC. Every time I select the file transfer option through USB preferences the option somehow never works. I am using the cable supplied with the phone. Any ideas?

You can try different port on your PC and/ or different cable. Also unlock your phone before you connect it to your PC.

I found USB cable file transfer to be somewhat "temperamental", but I can get it to work, more often than not, like this:
Connect two devices using USB cable.
On Mobile select the Settings - Connected Devices - USB
On Desktop, locate the external device icon, but don'yt"open" it quite yet.
On Mobile, select the "File transfer "radio-button", activate.
After a couple of ceconds, if nothing happens on the desktop, the radio-button will revert from File transfer back to No data transfer. However, if the device icon is clicked on the desktop before that, the file navigation window will open with "Internal Shared Storage" icon that represents the root of the filesystem on the mobile.
(This might or might not work for you...)

Having the same issue with Windows 10 and Pixel 6a. However, the device "Couldn't switch" when selecting USB controlled by : Connected device

Tried doing the transfer again today, is working now for some reason.

rbr you can only switch control to other android devices. This is true also for stock android.

    Same problem.
    The answer is THE CABLE.
    3eur/7eur/18eur cable --- nix.
35 Eur cable --- eurika!!! worked like a charm.

Maybe you guys are lucky with a cheaper one, for me, after some frustrating 30 min, this was the solution.
    Cheers.

    PS:
If devs fix the auto-recording issue i say graphene is 100% gold!

That's an old release. You should upgrade the GrapheneOS version so you'll be able to get the latest security patches. 😊
