That was my (possibly incorrect) conclusion from reading the forum posts.

Also:

Aurora Store has some issues of its own, and some of them overlap in fact with F-Droid. Aurora Store somehow still requires the legacy storage permission, has yet to implement certificate pinning, has been known to sometimes retrieve wrong versions of apps, and distributed account tokens over cleartext HTTP until fairly recently; not that it matters much since tokens were designed to be shared between users, which is already concerning.

Not sure how up to date that info is

I have VPN, Mail, Calendar, Drive and PASS from Proton. All downloaded from the official website, installed via Obtainium and updates are coming regularly.

    7 days later

KankysCZ With Obtainium, you are using the configs obtained from the apps.obtainium.imranr.dev site? Or did you set these up yourself?

krysor Oftentimes Aurora Store would show me updates were available for the Proton apps while Obtainium wouldn't find anything even when checking manually.

That is expected. The Play Store versions of Proton Pass are almost always ahead of the tags on Github, which I assume the apk on https://protonapps.com/protonpass-android is built from. You can see this here: https://github.com/protonpass/android-pass/tags

Proton advertises that their apps are open source. Anyone can see for themselves that the published source code on GitHub is significantly lagging behind the Play Store releases. They should be rightly criticised for this. Send a message to Proton support asking them to clarify why they falsely market their product as open source.

I've downloaded and installed Proton pass from fdroid, proton, aurora store but I've not able to find how to import a password CSV file.
I've search proton help faq and the option is supposed to be on the create menu page, but its not.
Also raised a query on the proton website on Wednesday and to date no response.

    Any help thanks

I think that you can only import passwords using the browser extension and not into the stand alone app. From then on you can use the app with all of your imported passwords, create and store any new ones, and keep or discard the browser extension as you wish.

KankysCZ Yeah, I'll second the request to know how you set this up. I've tried to go this route and can't get it to work.

what does 'a pseudo version is in use'?
, i added proton pass to obtainium direct from proton.me
        latest version 2-9-25
google play store doesnt tell you much unless your logged in..
