  • Installed Google Play services version higher than available version?

I have Google Play services installed in a Work profile managed via Shelter.

It says:
"Available version: 24.35.30 (260400-668017056)"
"Installed version: 24.43.37 (260400-693941914)"

This seems like an inconsistent state to me.

This is probably due to having updated from inside the Play Store, after having received a notification "Google Play needs to update. It is recommended to allow this" for multiple days. I've read in another thread that one should actually not do this?

I think I will just reinstall Google Play Services, but what is the recommended way of managing these updates? Should I disable this update notification?

mbw I've read in another thread that one should actually not do this?

The dialog recommending you to let Play Store update Play services comes from the OS, not from Play services itself, so GrapheneOS is actually recommending you to do this. If some forum user says otherwise, they ought to describe why they do not recommend doing that.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up! I misunderstood what I read here.
