Hoping I can get help diagnosing the cause of a recent kernel crash.

The situation:
P7, stable channel, owner profile, no gplay, stock camera.
Woke up, took phone off of wireless charger.
5 min later, first interaction with phone, tapped power button twice to take a picture.
Screen stays black, unresponsive.
Take a moment to tap around, press power button once, etc to try to wake up the phone.
After ~ 5sec, screen comes to life, but is stuttering pretty worryingly, and the pin pad is not showing up.
Getting worried, but eventually pin pad shows up and I unlock.
I open up camera, take the picture. Phone is slow, less responsive, but picture is taken.
I open up Signal to send the pic, then phone crashes and auto reboots of its own accord.
Upon reboot, pin pad shows up like normal, unlock goes like normal.
Photo did not survive, not found in gallery.
A popup informs me that I had a kernel crash and provides a log file.

Can anyone help me understand what went wrong? Should I be worried?
This device has been absolutely perfect for me up until now, no hardware issues that I've noticed, bought it brand new from Google store.

Happy to share the kernel crash logs with a mod over Matrix if that's helpful.
Thanks so much!~

zzz did this only happen once or can you reproduce the crash?

zzz it's probably nothing to worry about if it happened only once. I also don't know of others who are having this same problem, so it's unlikely (but not impossible) to be a software issue. The phone probably didn't do a full reboot, so you can try a real restart and watch for any other crashes.

It's most likely a one time thing. If not, it may be an intermittent hardware issue. We do sometimes have people report these kinds of crashes when using the camera, which turned out to be caused by hardware issues. If it is a hardware issue, you may get more crashes randomly in the future. If that happens then the log can help confirm a hardware problem.

Got it, I'll report back here if something similar recurs in the future.
        Thanks for your time
