  • play services in private space gets no network

Hi, I setup private space and want to install full Google services. I managed to start play store from the private space and logged myself in. As soon as the play store starts, it says, that I am offline although I granted network access in both, play store as well as play services. Any hints, how I can get this beast running?

androidin in the mean time I would rate this as bug. The play store in the main profile is disabled, the play services im the main profile have no network connection allowed. In private space I allowed both full access to the network. But the play store tells me, it is offline. It seems that one profile influence the other

I'm unable to reproduce this. Can you say what your exact setup is? Are Google Play and Google Play Services disabled or are their network permissions both disabled? I tried both ways and Google Play Store works for me in Private Space.

other8026 Main profile: gmscomapconfig and play store: deactivated, play services is active but no permissions given.

Private space: play store and play services: only network and notification permission allowed, gmscompatconfig is active here for sure

By the way: the main profile runs netguard, the private space runs adguard. Bit if I deactivate both it is still not running (no network connection for play store). Therefore I believe it isn't related

I'd think even if Google Play Services doesn't have any permissions, GmsCompat and GmsCompatConfig need to be enabled, but I can't see how it would cause the issue you're describing. Could be wrong though.

In either owner or in the private space, have you kept GmsCompatConfig up to date via the App Store app? Is your OS up to date? Do you have pending updates for Google Play or Google Play Services? Make sure all of those things are up to date using App Store.

other8026 my system is always up to date, sure. How can I update only gmscompat? Gmscompatconfig is accessible via GOS store, but not the gmscompat. Maybe I should delete the private space and set it up newly?

After deleting my private spaces and setup everything newly, it's working perfect. Sounds good, but anyway it cost me several hours to configure it. Is this the price of data security and privacy?

Each profile has separate VPN configuration. Is it possible you set up a VPN but didn't activate it, so traffic was being blocked but the VPN was not working?

androidin GmsCompat is part of the OS. It's the compatibility layer. GmsCompatConfig provides the configuration determining a lot of what it does which can be updated out-of-band.

After setting up the profile again, play store isnagain not able to connect to the internet and say it's offline. I think it happened after I setup DNS server in adguard to tls://dnsforge.de

The strange thing is, even if I deactivate adguard or setup another DNS Server, the behaviour still applies. Any comments on that?
