Hello,

I am currently a LineageOS user considering to switch to a Pixel phone and install Graphene. I have just one concern.

My banking app can be installed and opened on Lineage so it should work on Graphene as well. The only stumbling block is that the app activation method is weird and doesn't work on Lineage, so I am wondering if it will work on Graphene.

I have the intention have at least two user profiles to split my FOSS apps and personal apps from the ones that need Google.

My banking app is activated by it sending an sms to my phone. It does not give me a code that I manually enter, but it activates itself upon receiving the message. This step fails on Lineage every time. I assume it had to do with a Google service of some sort, but I have no idea. Does anybody have a clue which Google service mechanism is used for this, and will it work if I use sandboxed Google in Graphene?

Additionally, can anybody confirm if food delivery services like Glovo and shared bike/scooter services will work. They do not work on Lineage with microG, so I was wondering if they will work on Graphene.

Thank you!

That should work if you give google play the sms permission.

I think this should work. I have done this, but the last time was maybe a year or two ago, but I'd imagine it still works the same. If I remember correctly, all you have to do is have Google Play installed in the same profile, grant Google Play Services the SMS permission, and maybe the phone permission (to get or verify the phone number) as well.
