Hello,

I just got a Pixel 9 Pro after my Pixel 6 display failed.

I was really enthusiastic about the new fingerprint sensor, as it was supposed to be much better than the pretty bad one on my Pixel 6.

I bought the phone second hand with a glass protector, apparently the person says it's the official one from Google or whatever.

I stumbled upon this thread on Reddit.

One of the top comment is this :
Disable adaptive touch and see if that improves your experience

Has anyone an idea what is the equivalent setting on Grapheneos ? I can't find it in the settings in Graphene.

Also looking for some tips to improve the sensor, if any.

thanks

Nakatt according to Googles own user forum, the screen protector they sell on their store sucks.
I find the fingerprint sensor to be pretty fast and reliable but I also don't use a screen protector. This thread somewhat highlights the main talking points (the guy has a regular 9, you have a Pro XL, but it's the same scanner).

In my limited experience using Pixel 9 Pro XL (both with screen protector from Google store and without any screen protector), fingerprint sensor on P9PXL is less responsive than on P8P. It works but I get "fingerprint not recognized" far more often than on P8P (which works nearly 100%).

I haven't found a solution yet. Increasing touch sensitivity doesn't seem to help nor registering multiple fingerprints of the same finger.

Offtopic, fingerprint sensor on Pixel 9 Pro Fold is very responsive and a pleasure to use.

I have the 9 Pro XL and the screen protector from the Google Store. No issues here.

No issues on mine with the screen protector from the Google store. Try re-registering your print, perhaps?
