When I switched from Nokia 6.1 Plus to Pixel 4a, I was a little disappointed to find that the native Video calling no longer worked. It worked flawlessly on my Nokia and even on Samsung J2 before that with my current carrier. There were some news of Google enabling them in future software updates, but it never happened.
Earlier Pixels supported this feature via Duo: https://blog.google/products/duo/making-video-calling-easier-your-android-phone/ but it doesn't work anymore. If you use Duo (Now Meet) your call will be routed via Google's server and the personal you are calling must have Duo installed.
If I put my sim card in my Samsung J2 from 2016, I can still make video calls using ViLTE. And I think the function exists on Pixel phones, but not enabled. (Try ##4636## and go to Phone info)
So my question is: Can GrapheneOS enable this feature, is it too much effort? Or is this not possible at all?
