Anyone have any experience with MyQ? I picked up a 6a specifically to play with Graphene and it would obviously be nice if I could control my garage door with it. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app repeatedly and tried giving it all privileges. Once logged in it flashes its loading screen and closes itself half a second later. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Chamberlain MyQ on Pixel 6a
I checked and didn't get it to work in the limited time I had. Maybe someone else has other ideas?
I tried enabling exploit protection compatibility mode, and installed with Google Play, logged in, all that. Gave the app some privileges like location, phone, notifications, sensors, storage scopes on, etc. No luck.
Finally checked logcat and nothing useful comes up. It just says timed out waiting for threads to suspend.
I'm having the same issue. App works fine on Google original image, but weirdly crashes on GrapheneOS.

having the same issue. I can't figure out why it's not working on Graphene. Anyone get this working? I'm on P7 Pro
This issue had me calling my wife after a business trip and walking her through installing myq, helping her login and open the garage so I could get in the house when my front door lock malfunctioned.
Seriously considering re-googling my phone. Why will nobody help with this?

segflaunt I completely understand that getting this app to work is very important to you, but please don't try to derail other threads or keep creating new ones to try and direct attention to this one.
Please remember that the people helping out on the forum are volunteers doing this in their free time.
Can you please provide more information about the exact behavior that you're getting, as well as your exact setup?
- Is the app crashing the moment you launch the app? Is something else happening? Provide as many details as possible.
- Do you have Sandboxed Google Play installed? Did you install all 3 apps, including Play Store? Did you do that before you installed this app?
matchboxbananasynergy Not the most generous take on my posts. Regardless.
I have had all the google play store, services and framework installed for a good while now. I think it was the first thing I did. I have been trying with beta versions. I just uninstalled and reinstalled these with stable channel and deleted MyQ's app storage to document behavior in the most default way possible.
The behavior of the app is:
- upon first launch, it offers a get started button, or sign-in if you already have an account.
- click sign-in, and a web page is opened for sign-in
- once credentials are entered and the enter key is pressed, it goes briefly to an app splash screen, then back to the login web page.
- close that, close the myq app and launch it again, and you briefly get the splash screen with a spinner/throbber, and poof it vanishes.
- launch again, and same
matchboxbananasynergy exploit protection compat mode is on.
matchboxbananasynergy I do have a logcat taken during the app crash. Not sure what else could be helpful.

segflaunt Thank you for this info.
This isn't likely to change anything, but I would like to do a couple of things as a sanity check.
- Now that you've reisntalled Sandboxed Google Play, uninstall and reinstall the app instead of just clearing its data.
- Then, go to Settings > Security > and disable "Enable Secure App Spawning".
Then reboot the phone and try again. Please let me know if the behavior differs in any way. If this doesn't make a difference, please don't forget to re-enable the secure app spawning toggle.
Looking forward to your reply.
By the way, is this the app?

After a quick glance, I found this review, which sounds suspiciously similar to what you're facing. When's the last time someone tried using this app on stock?
I'm starting the get a sneaking suspicion that we may be dealing with an app bug here.
It worked great until update. I loved being able to open the garage door without having to take an opener with me like when going for a walk. For some reason their update broke it and now I get a blank screen after the splash screen switches. I'm using Android 11. Maybe that's the reason it won't work any more.
Well there you go, it works after that. Thanks for your help! I'll be sure to note this in every place I mentioned the issue, along with credit to you.
But yes, it is that app.
segflaunt Just to make sure I fully understand what fixed it, was it disabling the secure app spawning toggle?
That's peculiar if so, but I'm glad to hear it worked.
matchboxbananasynergy I can confirm MyQ is now working on my 6a. Thank you, sir/ma'am!

segflaunt Since you've mentioned you're on Matrix, could you please DM me the logs at @matchboxbananasynergy:matrix.org
?
Ideally, the app should work without the need to disable secure app spawning. There might be something that the app developer needs to fix.
matchboxbananasynergy duplicating verification here, but for the benefit of anyone else with the issue / interested in the solution, it sure was.
I have toggled it back and forth confirming that is the difference. The app must have some issue with running in that environment. Maybe putting its grubby fingers where they do not belong. Who knows.
I am on the Pixel 7 Pro, I have the "Settings > Security > "Enable Secure App Spawning" Enabled as I have never disabled it. I am trying to help my uncle get myQ working on his p6p and he had issues until reading this thread to disable this feature.
I am posting to express that this may appear to fix it but there must be a different issue as it works flawlessly on my p7p (google profile-3rd/profile) when keeping the feature enabled. If this thread ever continues I am willing to help on my end if there is anything I can do.
