What features will be missing in GOS' Android 15 version?

Hi, I'm looking forward to the release of Android 15, specially for a couple of features that will improve my experience with the device. I know that the GrapheneOS team has limited resources and has priorities, but in past releases some features have not been implemented into Graphene (such as the customizable lock screen clocks, although in most cases the unimplemented features were Google's code rather than the AOSP itself.)

So, what features will make it into Graphene 15 and what others will not?
And since we're on the topic, what other features are currently in development?

All my support to the devs, and my apologies if there's some post or roadmap out there, but I haven't found anything on the matter.

Edit: more specifically, I'm mostly looking forward to the implementation of the Private Space and Anti-Theft Protection features. :)

Private Space will be available, the other feature you mentioned is a privileged Play Services feature, not an AOSP feature.

My only wish for Android 15 is they bring back the WiFi / signal strength meter with the bars instead of the solid fill.

Bars are nonsense, look up the real signal strength is settings > about phone > SIM status slot n

Disregard if you were looking for bars for WiFi only. I’m not too clear on which signal strength you want bars for, WiFi or cellular.

Graphene1 Google will release it in October, but Graphene can release it whenever they want.

gwr We need the official stable release with the current patch level rather than what is currently released. We've already ported to Android 15 and are testing it but it's waiting on them to do a proper release.

Sirut The operating system regularly checks for the availability of a new update and downloads it autonomously and transparently, which is why the operating system also makes regular connection checks, so you don't need your PC to update manually.

The distribution channel is set to the stable channel by default, with the option of choosing the beta and alpha channels.

Sirut OTA as normal. You will receive a normal System Update Notification and can get your beautiful hands on a shiny GOS with Android 15.

duck1 It's an AOSP feature and has been supported in GrapheneOS development builds enabling the Android 15 feature flags for months already. We already added Private Space integration for our sandboxed Google Play compatibility layer, Contact Scopes and Storage Scopes before the official Android 15 source code release this month.

Will GOS' implementation allow nesting VPNs such that if I have a VPN active in my owner profile and a simultaneously active but different VPN in the private space, the 'entry or real user IP' the private space VPN sees or reports is that of the owner profile's VPN? In this case, if only the owner profile has an active VPN, the IP of the space as visible to its apps and reported while browsing any IP testing site would be that of the owner's profile VPN.

This would be an excellent thing. It would make the proposed app communication/visibility scopes for non-system components feature a bit less pressing. I've been hoping for it to become a high-priority feature since always!

On the stock PixelOS, the latest Android 15 Beta, the Settings app in Owner has a nice UI for switching between settings for the Owner profile and the Private Space profile. When you go to Settings > Network & internet > VPN, the VPN apps are marked with icons to differentiate between the VPN slots for Owner and Private Space profiles. I expect this to be the case for AOSP as well.

I think that Private Space is very nicely done – UI-wise it's easy to quickly differentiate between apps, settings and notifications in Owner and Private Space. You can run two instances of the same app side-by-side and quickly note which one you're currently using by activating the app switcher. I took some screenshots to better explain this but I think seeing it for yourself when GrapheneOS based on AOSP15 is released will explain it better.

Please note that I have only tested this on PixelOS.
