Can't use my passkeys that are stored in Proton Pass

If it says "Proton Pass" anywhere in that dialog, it's using Proton Pass and not Google Password Manager. The UI is coming from Play Services and is confusing you into believing that you are using passkeys saved to your Google account.

Lukas I'm not sure I understand your reply. I was not suggesting it was user error. On the contrary, I was criticizing Google for a confusing UI design.

If you are not willing to provide details on how the screen actually looks on your side, or whether or not it's including "Proton Pass" in the text, I can't help you. How is anyone supposed to assist you simply based on the information that "my configuration is correct"?

I just did a factory reset and still have the issue, which proves that the issue is with the latest Vanadium update.

I have managed to reproduce the issue. Which version of Play Services are you on? To get the version, go to App Store > Google Play Services > look at Installed version

I have the same issue. I just installed GrapheneOS today, and I'm on the Pixel 9. I wanted to use Ente Auth, and it uses the website to verify the passkey. The passkey interaction is just not working. Even with Chrome 125 flags enabled, and the "Use Third-party passkeys" option on, it still wouldn't delete it. I tried disabling and enabling back Proton Pass passwords/passkeys permission, but this didn't change anything.

That's the version where the bug is reproducible for me. If you are comfortable with using a version of Play Services that is not as widely deployed or tested yet, you can try upgrading to the version in the Alpha channel in App Store, and see if that solves the issue. To do that, go to App Store > Google Play Services > tap the three dots upper-right corner > Release channel > Alpha. Then install the update.

It might work with the version from the Beta channel as well but I haven't tested that yet (you are welcome to try that).

There is a new version of Play Services (stable release) in App Store right now. To me, it seems to resolve the issue.

gwr You need Play Services for practically most passkey (and FIDO) functionality. All you need to do is install Google Play Services from App Store, undo the flags you set in Vanadium, then enable your password manager in Settings > Passwords, passkeys and autofill.
This is all assuming that you want/need to use Play Services in the first place.

Weirdly enough, Proton Pass (F-Droid) + Mull support passkeys well.

For now, I have managed to do without it. I have just had one very crucial apps that wasn't working, so I set up a work profile and it worked fine (do work profile has GMS enabled ?).

Last time I checked, Play Services needed to be installed and enabled to use FIDO in most applications (I know of no counterexamples, but it should be possible for apps to support FIDO without relying on Play), but Play Services did not require network permissions.
