I'm currently using RedReader, but if there are more private alternatives out there, please share.

I use reddit less and less these days. I mostly just access it through the browser when needed. Also, in case you are unaware, you can set up subreddits as an RSS feed on apps like Feeder if you need subreddit updates.

Orange nice name. Lol. I like this. Maybe I just missed it, but how do I login and add subscriptions?

      Jojojo
As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't support full features like ability to make comments or posts. For creating persistent subscription and settings, it basically stores them in a special URL, which Redlib expects you to add to your bookmark.

To add subscription, go to subreddits you want to subscribe to, then click on Subscribe. These subscriptions are essentially stored in your browser. To export the current state (subscriptions, settings, etc), go to settings (https://r.genit.al/settings), and scroll down. Right click on the text "this link" and save it. Using that link restores your current state.

It generates a link that looks like this:
      https://r.genit.al/settings/restore/?theme=system&front_page=default&layout=card&wide=off&post_sort=hot&comment_sort=confidence&show_nsfw=off&use_hls=off&hide_hls_notification=off&hide_awards=off&fixed_navbar=on&subscriptions=factorio&filters=

Orange thanks a ton. Considering I mostly just lurk nowadays, I don't mind not being able to post and comment. Do you mind giving a pitch for your instance? Why should someone consider using yours over someone else's?
Is there any difference between instances besides the name?

With LibRedirect I use a all in one browser addon for these buggers. :)

Jojojo Other than short name, none. I have it set up as RedLib recommends which has no logging, but I have no way of proving it. RedLib features are pretty much all the same for all instances, I think.

@rufus @Orange any idea how I can have reddit links open in RedLib in Brave Browser on mobile by default?

I use Infinity for Reddit because I like its UX and it supports Material You / Monet. It works great for private browsing too. The app lets you 'subscribe' to subreddits even without signing into an account. The APK is available on GitHub for those who use Obtanium.
