The default launcher works, pretty good in fact. But it would be nice to have more features such as double tap to sleep or more customization settings.
I know alternative launchers exist, but they never work perfectly. I was using lawncher but for some reason it works very bad recently (constant freezes ect...). And everytime i've tried a new launcher i found it less stable than default one. Therefore, more features on the default GOS launcher would be a great solution.

The GOS launcher is just a fork of the AOSP launcher. GOS would need more devs and therefore more funding for them to consider adding features.

I've been using Lawnchair 2.1. It's extremely lightweight and adds just the right features to the default AOSP launcher giving it everything it's missing.

I've been using Lawnchair 12.1 without issue, although it is in alpha. It has a repository of themed icons for apps that haven't implemented it yet.

It is unfortunate that GrapheneOS doesn't develop a more full featured launcher. I've been happy with Neo Launcher though, which is open source.

      Please read grapheneos.org/features

GrapheneOS is focused on substance rather than branding and marketing. It doesn't take the typical approach of piling on a bunch of insecure features depending on the adversaries not knowing about them and regressing actual privacy/security. It's a very technical project building privacy and security into the OS rather than including assorted unhelpful frills or bundling subjective third party apps choices.

I only wish GOS added app renaming feature or allowed for app name/title removal because app names/titles with many characters get cut off. It looks ugly that way.
