Clock knows where I live?

Hi,

I have a widget from the default clock app with the time of my current location in big and multiple time zones in small.

But when I travel somewhere with a different time zone than my home, it adds a time zone called 'home' with my home time zone and the big clock has the current time zone.

How does the clock know where I live and how do I change where I live?

Examples of the global OS configuration available to apps are time zone, network country code and other similar global settings.

I'm 99% sure it just stores the timezone that you're in when you open the clock app for the first time

other8026 thanks for the response. So I guess @Fortnutelover123 is correct. But what do I do if I move to a different time zone. How do I let the app know?

RRZishe As far as I can tell, the system figures out the local time zone from cell towers. It's like when you fly to another time zone. Once you turn off airplane mode or turn on your phone, it updates the time zone on its own.

Every time I've travelled to other countries, I never had to make any adjustments to the clock app. It just uses the local time zone.

Settings
And turn off "automatic home clock"

It will likely pick your current region from the signal provider. But if you want to fix your clock..

Time zone
Select time zone

other8026 what I mean is how do I tell the widget that what it thinks is home is actually not where I live anymore cause I moved

RRZishe I don't know. I don't use widgets.

You can always test by changing the time zone yourself in Settings > System > Date & time > Time zone. Turn off automatic time zone and then you can set it manually. After changing it, you can check the widget to see if it was updated. I'm guessing it will update to reflect the current time zone.
