Hi guys, I'm willing to try GraphenOS on my 4a, but I have two points that prevent me:

  • I have some crucial apps, like local banks, that are installed from Google Play only and don't have apk files anywhere, and I can't have phone without them
  • Camera. I know Google's one is partly closed sourced - and a lot is done on the software side, so what number of percents in quality decreased are we talking about related to Android?

Is there an opportunity to test before installing, like with linux running from bootable drive? If no, at least is there a way to install Android back, if something that I want doesn't work in a way I need? Thanks in advance :)

You can install Google Play and its likes if you will, and eventually dedicate a profile for the apps that require it.
And for the camera, you can also install Google Camera, although GrapheneOS Camera is known to be excellent.

Eirikr70 GrapheneOS Camera is known to be excellent.

Yes, however it is missing a lot of features that aren't implemented because those functions are not exposed using camerax extensions properly.

      Hello and welcome!

Please go through the official GrapheneOS website as it already answers most of the questions you might have. For example, there is an article about GrapheneOS Camera and Google Camera:

For a community backed database of Banking applications, please check out:

          That's sad to hear :(

You can now be the first to check whether it works and report, so that people from your country could know for sure 👍

Also, installing GrapheneOS on your Pixel phone keeps the warranty intact. You can return back to stock Android anytime.
