  • Galaxy Watch not working? You gotta be joking

Just bought a Galaxy Watch, installed the Samsung Wearable App & WearOS app. The watch is yet to pair with the phone??

Please help install it! I do not have any GAPPS installed by the way.
-Samsung wearble wasn´t installing at the beginning.

  • After giving it permission for everything it began installing and updating It also installed WearOS .
  • Now WearOS app nor Samsung app can pair with the watch. I´m stuck here.

Please help what to do in this case, literally just bought this to use it!

"This watch isn´t supported on this "
Not sure if that means anything but while Galaxy Watch Manager is allowed to Device and app notifications alongside the Launcher. Wear OS by Google is marked as "Not Alllowed" and GrapheneOS is not letting me allow it anyway "Restricted Settings, For your security this setting is currently unavailable"

MkKvcs Thanks for your reply.
I have now tried on another user that has Googleplay but still not working.

I am afraid I will install GAPPS on main user and still not work, so I thought I´d ask first.
If I install all Google (owner) will it work then?

Thanks

I am using it just fine with gplay installed and nearby devices permission granted to both the wearable app and gplay itself

Don't worry. It only works in the Owner Profile. You need the Google Apps Suit from Graphene Apps and it'll all work.

        MkKvcs So to make sure

        1. Apps>Stupi GPS
        2. Nearby devices
          All in owner tho
          All good

I don't have it WearOS app.
        These are my permissions.
GPlay= Network, Notifications and Nearby only when I'm syncing watch info.
Galaxy Watch Manager= Calendar, Network, Notification, Phone and Nearby Devices when Syncing watch info.
I don't use the native phone or text with my watch so I give it minimal permissions. I use it for health tracking, calendar/reminders. Everything works though. I've had the watch fully functional with just these setting. Might be a couple more for assistant but you can just play with the settings a little to get that going as well if it doesn't with the settings. Every once in a while I have to turn Exploit Protection Compatibility on the off to get the Samsung Health app syncing faster but that's like one a month or two.

p0well34 Appreciate your answer a lot.
Did what you suggested, all worked fine. I decided to reset the phone and start from scratch. After the reset and having all the Google Apps & Samsung wearable installed, I attempted to connect the watch to the wearable app. It does not work anymore after the initial set up where I accept Samsung and Google terms, I get an error message "An error occured" link to the error below

It seems to be an error related to google apps but not sure how to fix it
          Tried:
Clearing catche and data, unninstall and reinstall of Samsung Wearable App
Clearing catche and data, unninstall and reinstall of Google Apps
Factory reset the phone from boot
Accept all Samsung Optional Data & Google optional Data
Restart my phone after all the above
Update the watch from the watch itself by connecting it to the wifi and try to pair it again

Are you sure both google play services and the wearable app has nearby devices permission activated? I've only seen that error when either of them didn't

              MkKvcs
Just doublechecked, I gave the wearable app ALL the permissions
Went on Apps > GPS>Settings Nearby devices, Network, Notifications, Sensors ALLOWED
GS Framework has network and sensors allowed
Google Play Store has Nearby devices, network, notifications and sensors Allowed

              Am I missing something?

PS I am trying with a spare Samsung phone I have and it seems to be working

              1. Open Wearable App, confirmg pairing code
              2. "Downloading Software" (This step is missed on my GOS phone despite having reinstalled)
              3. Accept Samsung and Google Policies (My GOS phone takes me directly to here)
              4. Accept Samsung permissions, calendar, calls etc OK
              5. Sign in with Google account > Skip
              6. Automatic Watch Back Up > Skip
              7. Galaxy Store > Accept terms
              8. Samsung Smart Switch Mobile > Install
              9. Share data with Samsung Smart Switch App > Deny
              10. Choose watch wrist, daily activities, heart rate, etc
              11. Set up a mobile plan for when your frnoe is not with you
              12. Your watch has a previous mobile plan, use it, set up a new one, skip > Skkip
              13. All ready, Galaxy Watch 6 working

ForeverGOS You defiantly need Nearby Devices turned on both Play Services and Watch Manager to setup or any time you want to be connected . I've had that error before while setting up. It was a communication error with the Google account on the watch connecting to the phone. Go into the watch Settings /Google account/Add New Account and try adding your Google account again. There's an option to add another account. Just add the one you use again. Let us know if that works. If not, just delete the apps and reset the phone and try again. after you connect disconnect immediately and try to reconnect before setting the watch up incase you have to do it again. It sometimes act wonky setting up but it should catch eventually. Also, for setup you may need to grant all the permissions requested. Then you can tune it back.

ForeverGOS When I say reset the phone I don't mean factory reset. Just the Galaxy apps. Sorry that wasn't clear.

p0well34 I do not have a google account tho, do I have to create one to get past this?

Also, I just tried to connect it to a spare Samsung phone I have to make sure it´s not a watch issue, and it worked. Left all the report on my coment above, pelase take a look at it in case Its of any benefit to resolve this. Also didn´t have to create or use any google account for it either.

p0well34 Sure thing if thats the only way I´ll do it right now.

Now that the watch is installed on the Samsung phone. Do you think it´s best if I attempt "transfer watch to my GOS phone" or to Reset phone>settings>googleaccount>add google account> try to pair it? as per your instructions.

PS: I don´t quite understand this bit of your instructions:
after you connect disconnect immediately and try to reconnect before setting the watch up incase you have to do it again.

ForeverGOS The GOS OS is more finicky because of the hardening I believe. It took me a couple times to get a solid install that would work. I use a play account. Samsung plays well with Samsung. I would try adding a Google account to the Pixel to see if that clears up any hiccups.

ForeverGOS I was just saying make sure it reconnects to Bluetooth before customizing the setting incase it doesn't reconnect to Bluetooth.
