I have installed gcam from aurora store without GSF. After turning on astrophotography mode in the night mode, the symbol on the shutter button is not turning from moon to stars. I don't know if it is my fault, or if graphene doesn't support it.

Grape-eneOS As far as I know, there's no reason why it shouldn't work if your phone supports it. I've never tried taking photos with this mode, personally.

One thought is that since you installed the app from Aurora, it's possible you inadvertently installed the incorrect version (the anonymous account that you were using might have been set up with a device that isn't a Pixel). In Aurora's settings, you should be able to change the device in the spoof manager.

Available on my P8 Pro, so its most likely aurora store install causing issues.

I do have the same problem - Pixel camera with Google Play Services, installed from the Play store. I did activate auto-astro mode in settings, but it stays in nightsight, even if i point it at the night sky for a minute...
Any ideas what could the problem could be?

    Did you granted Sensor permission?

The phone must not shake, not even minimal. It does not work if you hold it, you must put it down onto something solid.

    WFM with Aurora and P6.

That's how it works for me:

    • Switch to Night Sight mode
    • Point the camera at the sky
    • Important: The app only offers astrophotography mode when the camera is held absolutely steady. Even better: Place your device on an (improvised) tripod.
    • camera app gives a pop-up message: "Stabilize phone for astrophotography."
    • If the camera is continued holding still, the shutter button symbol changes from moon to stars and astrophotography is possible.

    My setup:
    Pixel 8 Pro
    Build: 2024040900
    sandboxed Google Play installed
    Pixel Camera: version 9.3.160.621982096.22
    App installed via Play Store
    App permissions: camera, microphone, sensors
