I need location sharing between me and another person. (Consensual)
I'm using Play services for required apps.
I'm definitely not in a high threat level model.
I went down the rabbit hole (as I usually do) of self hosting location sharing. After day 3 of trying learning how to run docker on a vps, nginx, etc, it dawned on me that I'm probably just wasting my time.
I found Zood in the app store. Works great, but it's their server. I can't see how it helps anything and really just involves another person in the mix.

If I'm already using sandboxed Play services and Google's location for other things, should I just use Location sharing in Google Maps?

Opinions please.
Thanks

Well, it all is up to you. If Google can see your position anytime, then you give them no further information by giving that other person access to your "Google" location. But if Google has access to your location once in a while and you want to share it constantly with that other person constantly, then it might be nice not to give that permanent access to Google.
As of Zood it seems it uses Google Maps so I presume you would share your location with both Zood and Google, so the interest is quite limited.

Not a problem!
