Hi, my Pixel 4a (5G) will only boot to 'Fastboot Mode' screen after leaving it overnight with a low battery. Maybe it tried an OTA update and failed?

Product revision: bramble MP1.0(ROW)
Bootloader version: b5-0.6-10489838
Baseband version: unknown
Serial number: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Secure boot: PRODUCTION
NOS production: yes
DRAM: 6GB Hynix LPDDR4X
UFS: 12GB SKHynix
Device state: locked
Boot slot: a
Enter reason: no valid slot to boot

I'm unable to switch to Recovery or Rescue modes (screen goes black for a couple seconds then same fastboot mode screen but with a new Enter reason line: error to preload images)

adb cannot see the phone, fastboot can see the phone, if I try to switch active slot using fastboot I get:
fastboot: error: Device does not support slots

I'm wondering what my options are at this point. I'm unfamiliar with fastboot and Android hacking but am fairly technical person and able to follow any detailed advice offered.

Is it possible to flash the phone with a latest update using fastboot without erasing my data on the phone? (I have quite a lot of photos and contacts I'd hate to lose).

Any help much appreciated...

bodski It looks like a hardware failure. You could try flashing the OS/firmware again but it's unlikely to help.

I am having the same issue, were you able to get the issue solved?
