Are there any FOSS or Private and Secure apps or solutions for a 2nd phone number?

Similar to TextNow or Google Voice.

I heard of VoIP, but I'm not sure if it's private or of any good ones.

VoIP is not a service, its just a way for voice calls to work over IP

Honestly, almost all phone services will have privacy backtracks. You just won't find anything. You can buy a SIM tho at any corner store with minutes on it with cash

I'm not really sure why you would look for something 'FOSS' in this realm...not really how that works

AffiliateAnthony Try Silent Link...although it's not FOSS but seems private. Not sure what this forum's policy is on sharing links so I'll just say search for an interview with the company on Opt Out Podcast. Where I live, one cannot use a SIM without first registering all your particulars.

raccoondad That just shows my limited understanding in this area. I appreciate the advice though. I didn't think about just getting a SIM.
