Never suffered this issue. No PIN but password at all my profiles.

I am stuck.
I cannot unlock the bootloader. So I can't even start over?

The windows 10 laptop it's connected to has stopped recognizing the phone in device manager - even though it makes a noise and reshuffles the device list when I plug/unplug the usb cable. I have rebooted both devices. This is the same machine used for install yesterday - with updated pixel 8 device driver.

This phone hasn't even had a sim in it yet.

wallybo this sounds like a completely different problem than the one you mentioned in your original post. If so, please open a new thread about it so we can help you troubleshoot your issues with installing on a new phone!

other8026 I think he has jumped to the incorrect conclusion that he needs to reinstall GrapheneOS to reset his phone if his pin isn't working? I'm not sure

You do not need to reinstall.
You can do a factory reset.

@wallybo I had a similar issue around yesterday morning, not because of multiple users, but my device just stopped accepting my PIN.

If you are certain you were trying to unlock with the correct PIN it is most likely a hardware issue.

I suggest you keep good backups of everything important on the phone going forward.
