Hello,

I've been trying out the new GrapheneOS update, but I haven't been able to get Android Auto to work. I'm fairly sure my car is supposed to support Android Auto, and the manual doesn't mention any special steps I need to do. I installed the Android Auto app through GOS Apps and enabled the "Allow permissions for wired Android Auto" toggle, but when I open the Android Auto settings and go to "Connect A Car" nothing appears in the list. I also tried several different USB cables including ones I know work for data transfer on my computer. When I switch to the "USB" media screen on my car's display it flash "unsupported" a couple times when I connect my phone. Is there something I'm missing or any troubleshooting steps I should be following?

Thanks in advance!

I would double check that your car does support it. The "USB" media screen you mentioned sounds like what would be used for a USB flash drive with music on it.

I installed a CarPlay head unit in my car back when I used an iPhone. When I switched to Android, I was confused why Android Auto didn't work. I was positive that it supported Android Auto... until I double checked and found that it was CarPlay only.

Thanks for the quick reply! Do you know if there's a good reliable way to check if my car supports it? It's mentioned in the manual and every source online I found said that it should be supported starting in the model year I have for the car model I have.

Go to apps in your phone settings. Then scroll down to Sandboxed Google Play. Then go to Android Auto. Inside there, you will see toggles and instructions

Am missing something here... The only settings I can find are via the Android Auto app in the GOS App store. There is nothing for "Sandboxed Google Play" listed under Settings / Apps

        Help...

        Never mind found it. 🙄
