    Hi guys...

Thanks for these posts, and really interesting timing. Two days ago I installed a new custom Linux for Apple Mac M processors.

Firstly, I'm NOT a qualified tech, though have my own small I.T. business x 35 yrs experience from building my own Access D/bases decades ago, flashing routers for increased security, web design and lately flashing Pixels with GOS :] But when it comes to laptops, I was a Mac guy in the 90's but hate the eco garden and spying... tried Linux Mint, Tails etc... but hated the "plastic cheap feel" of most of the laptops. Each attempt to leave Mac hardware failed. The end result has been my Macbook Pro 16" [love the quality of it] and just installed a good firewall, Tor Browser, VPN, NO Apple login ever, etc...

Here is where it gets interesting. For two years I've been following the Asahi Linux project that has been reverse engineering mac drivers, to build a Linux version; a collaboration between Asahi Linux and the Fedora Project. Well they released it, and I installed it on my MBP [ 16" M1 Processor ] and am amazed at how stable it is and how most features are working right out of the box. No installing anything.

So..... the real question [that I can't answer] is how SECURE would this Fedora version running on a Mac be? Would it negate a lot of the Apple spying... no Apple account obviously, no iCloud, but Apple spying at processor level pre encryption and that crazy stuff they ate now doing... Is that finally potentially a decent SECURE laptop... ?

Really appreciate some comments from you guys :]

    Thx

      Hey, That helped.

It was silly of me. I was not aware that Contacts was a diff app from Phone App.
      Thx for clarifying.
