I am pretty excited that the Pixel 8 Displayport out is enabled on GOS now. I am looking forward to when there is a desktop mode (hopefully that is coming)

I am wondering if there are any privacy implications when using a device like NexDock? The wired option I imagine wouldn't have any tracking capability since it appears to just be a screen, trackpad and keyboard tied into one device. What are your guys opinions on that matter?

Found it thanks to you and it looks quite interesting! I don't think there'll be any privacy implications because it just seems to be "dumb" device as you said.

There is imo a security problem right now with external displays. Because there is no indicator that your screen gets mirrored to an external display. When conected to a " charging cable" your screen could be recorded without your knowledge. With the way most keybords work on android its possible to see the passwort being typed

I think the nextdoc is just a monitor, keybord and battery but there are hubs with hdmi and storage that you can use for your workstations. And external storage comes with the obvious security implications

An interesting concept! I will follow it closely. Has anyone tested it on a Pixel 8?
