App compatibility with GrapheneOS

Hungarian 1-12 governmental student log (and basically everything that has to do with elementary through high school education) app started using Play Integrity API since sometime. I only noticed today, latest update of the app was middle of February, probably been using it since way before. They don't ban GOS yet, they just mandate access to the API. The app also mandates to be logged in with Google Play Store, their network bans VPN, Tor, foreign IP addresses since they have been breached by kids. (The app is developed by incompetent idiots)

The app Carte Vitale (French Social Security) fr.sesamvitale.cartevitale.app does not work on GrapheneOS (tested on Pixel 6 and 7). Is there anything I can do to make it work?

I bank with all major banks in Australia. The NAB app (one of the biggest in Australia) blocks you if you aren't using the latest version and they have configured google play to block users from updating to this latest version if you don't meet play integrity requirements (i.e. the app is broken on grapheneos).

One of the problems with the NAB app is that they block you if you're using a VPN despite advice from the Australian Cyber Security Centre to use a VPN. Had to update other the weekend after trying to access and it was only by chance that a posted review of the app on Play Store raised the issue of a VPN. Even accessing the web site using a VPN would not work. Of course, NAB doesn't mention anything about use of a VPN, and their stupid replies to complaints on Play Store saying..contact us via social media says a lot. Don't and won't do social media. They now want a lot more permissions such as bluetooth, location etc etc etc

So...ATM to access I have to disconnect VPN, reboot and then log in. It does work with grapheneOS but no VPN. However, if you then reconnect VPN you still get notifications which is OK seeing that it tells me what's coming in and going out from my accounts.

Hi everyone,

I am currently experiencing difficulties with the Swiss banking app "UBS Acess" which allows access to "UBS Banking". I could no longer connect. I reinstalled the apps with Aurora and it worked, but when I launched ubs access an error was displayed "Error, Unfortunately, the access app does not respond. Please contact our support team"

Someone having the same issue ?
I tried the apps on my old android phone with default os and it worked...

brbr9 Same here. Tried everything, including installing from different Google accounts. It doesn't work.

Same here with UBS Access. I called the Support (the phone number mentioned on the screen) to know if it was more a bug or if they were enforcing some policies against non-stock OS. The Service Desk replied that it is a bug being investigated and that they have received many calls from Pixel users. I am not sure if the issue impacts only GrapheneOS or if it affects all Pixel phones.

You might want to call them as well to highlight the issue.

Franco I checked with my Pixel 6 with stock OS and UBS Access still works. I'm hoping they are not blocking Graphene OS.

Franco Thank you for the feedback, it's good to know... I really hope it isn't an issue with GOS and google play integrity or somehting like that...

Franco I think it's probably less that it affects Pixel users, but that Pixels are basically the only devices shipping QPR releases. Every other device is behind.

From what Franco posted it sounds like the stock Pixel OS is likely also impacted and so switching to stock would not help.

I reinstalled a previous version... 7.2.0.1236 and it's working again.

However, I also received this message so fingers crossed dnothing happens:

Security: Your Access App was deactivated.

So, downgrade your app. 👍

Franco I'm currently using the last version 7.5.1.1650 installed with the Play Store. I also tried with Aurora in anonymous mode and it still doesn't work... I will try the previous version, thank you for the feedback everybody.

Just out of curiosity, does this type of bug happen often or is it rare on UBS apps? I installed GrapheneOS 2 weeks ago for the first time and it's something that's non-negotiable, having my banking apps working.

If it happens a lot I'll most likely be going back to Pixel OS unfortunately... Right now it's fine because I'm at home and I'm keeping my OnePlus 6 with the apps on it but if it happens when I'm away from home without my backup phone it's quite problematic.

I fear it will be a temporary relief only because at some point, it will be required to upgrade to the latest version.

My hope is that enough people report the issue, so it would be addressed.

brbr9 Just out of curiosity, does this type of bug happen often or is it rare on UBS apps?

I use GoS since 5 months, it is the first time it happens on my side, including with any applications.

They do have the old "calculator" with the physical card. I ordered one where I work. But UBS will charge you 40 or 60 CHF for this device. Can't remember the exact price.

I have tried to downgrade via Aurora Store but it tells me the previous version do not exist.

This is absolutely not recommended as the app is not verified... But I downloaded the previous version from apk mirror.
This is not recommended but it worked... I hope UBS can push some previous apks on their website or an having a possibilty to check the authencity of an app.
