DeletedUser28 They're functional. The real issue for me, is that they're just ugly and don't follow the modern Material You design. The contact app in Dark Mode looks especially bad.
However, the Camera app doesn't get enough credit. Sure, it's not as feature rich as the Google Camera app. But it takes surprisingly good looking photo which is not the experience I've had with any other camera app that isn't Google's. My biggest gripe with it, is that it's slow as hell, making it way too easy to get a blurry mess instead of the photo you wanted.
