  • How to solve a no keyboard issue?

WhoTheFuckisAlice The GrapheneOS keyboard is based on the standard AOSP keyboard, which is open source. You can verify the source code for whatever keyboard, or any software for that matter, that you use.

The default keyboard has no permissions by default except for the optional Contacts permission for contact suggestions, and even that can be heavily enforced with Contact Scopes. Since the keyboard has no Network permissions either, it won't send any data to the Internet.

    [deleted] Last I checked, you can't even give AOSP keyboard the network permission.

        [deleted] The confusion is caused because the AOSP Keyboard has the "download files without notification" permission, which I think is useless without the Network permission.

          9 months later

          Found a buggy solution if USB peripherals are disabled.

          1. swipe up to unlock.
          2. press the keyboard button and then quickly press the grapheneos keyboard which remains an option
          3. press it.

          In my case, both options disappear quickly, so this may take multiple attempts.
