Hi, I have been wanting to add a second sim (E Sim phone #) to my pixel 7 running grapheme is. From other posts it seems like I have to install Google Play and this does concern me. There have been few that state their battery life deprecated, having to re-toggle certain permissions often etc...I really would like to continue using my second phone # since its mainly used for business but I don't know if the bad outweighs the good...any thoughts, should I live without? Someone did post that once organized, Google Play could be uninstalled leaving the e sim intact...will I be giving up privacy if play is installed? Any input would be appreciated...

Actually you need to have the Sanboxed Google Play services in your profile temporarily for that. The e-sim card get burnt onto an eUICC chip permanently attached to your device till you decide to wipe it off. So if you have concerns about using Google Play for the activation process, just activate it temporarily for your e-sim to be "provisioned" and then do a factory reset without erasing your e-sim and you will be good to go. As long as your e-sim is provisioned in your eUICC chip, you won't need the Google Play services ever again. From then onwards the e-sim will always be listed even if you don't have Sanboxed Google Play services installed in your main profile. Just never tick the option to wipe your e-sim if you ever factory reset, or flash to the stock or other ROMS. Just do it only when you give away your device. Enjoy the privacy of grapheneos with the flexibility of e-sims there on then man. Enjoy.

Do you even have to wipe your device? Can't you just delete the temporary user profile with the Google stuff in it and that's it?
