I just got this device this week and trying GrapheneOs for the first time.

Everything works fine, but the pĥone becomes quite hot to the touch. I never had any issues like this with my Samsung phone on regular Android, it always stays very cool, even under heavy usage.

Any suggestions on what can be done to improve this or finding the process that makes it heat like that?

You can check on the apps running in background and kill them, also bt or bouncing all the time between 5g/wifi/looking for signal in my experience are the culprits

gonzalo how can I avoid that bouncing? I didn't go away from home and the signal is strong here.

Unfortunately, it's been known to happen. I, personally had returned my 6a (Amazon), citing inadequate performance (on both stock and GrapheneOS) and picked up another one in couple of months' time. My current one is stone cold most of the time. The issue might've had resolved itself with time, but I opted to err on the safe side.

Join the Matrix channel and try your luck there. If nothing helps, you can maybe swap it out for another one since it's brand new.

[deleted] If I do that, is there an easy way to backup app and data so I don't spend once again hours setting up everything?

thefrenchnerd Sadly, there's no good backup solution at this time (but one is being conceived I suppose). For now just use in-app backups instead. Consequently, it's why I keep my apps to a minimum for now.
