When I get a call, using the default AOSP dialer, I was able to decline a call before by dragging the earphone symbol down. Since a few updates this does no longer work. Also pressing the power button only mutes the call, but does not decline it.

Does anyone else have this problem?

sebastianha Yup, I noticed that too.

I'm never use the phone number provided by my carrier, but I do sometimes receive spam calls and noticed that I can't decline them.

Yes, I had faced this bug. I called a person 2 days ago, but he didn't pick the call and my phone got screen locked during the call. After that my phone continuously calling that person. Phone was not disconnecting even after hitting "red button" multiple times. I unlocked the phone and again tried to disconnect the call but was unsuccessful. Cleared the "Telephone" app from recent tabs. Now I was not getting call screen neither in notification nor in "telephone" app. I had to restart the phone.

It definitely worked before, has happened with some of the last OS updates I think.

I've always had issues both answering and rejecting phone calls. Definitely the most annoying aspect of AOSP thus far. Seems it should be a very straightforward thing, but every time I answer a call, it requires several swipe attempts. I've tried different techniques with nothing consistently working. Maybe I'm just dumb, idk.

We previously had the problematic feature which causes this issue disabled in AOSP Dialer. Several people insisted it worked fine now so we re-enabled it, but it's clearly causing issues and we'll disable it again. We've noticed the issues with it ourselves and we had it disabled for years but it was recently re-enabled in July to see if it would work better. It clearly doesn't. If people want this feature, they'll need to do the work of replacing it with a proper implementation instead of getting us to enable this. Our next release will have it disabled again.

GrapheneOS Thank you! I've noticed too that answering or declining calls started to required swipes for pretty much the entire height of the screen. Cant wait for that false gesture option to be disabled again

Have the same issue. What did work for me is to start the swipe down to decline above the button - haha.
