krankyrandy7 Im replying to this thread a year and a half later wondering this exact thing about google pixel and grapheneOS
I find it extremely coincidental that the most crazed privacy operating system for mobile devices is being run almost exclusively on google devices. I know this may be looked at as going too over the top in terms of wanting privacy, but isn't that the entire reason for trying to 'de-google' and stop data collection and privacy invasion?
I cant help but think if your using google hardware, there has to be some sort of built in back up or redundancy into the hardware itself to still collect and transmit data, i think most could agree at this point that google is making these devices almost explicitly as a spying device or tool, so i think it could stand to reason that this is the case
Then on top of all that you add in the fact there is connections with the CIA and google and it doesn't seem far fetched that the hardware ITSELF would be designed to collect and transmit data, regardless of what operating system your using.
I know this will most likely warrant a response like there is not real way to live anonymously with a cell phone etc, and this is 100% true, all these devices and systems are built to track and collect data, so unless you can find a way to build your own hardware and relay stations, your out of luck
